BAFL: 2 Review

Glasgow Tigers 6 - 7 Leicester Falcons

In the lowest scoring game this weekend the Leicester Falcons squeaked pass the Glasgow Tigers.

Nick Surface's interception and run back took the Falcons into the redzone. The games first score was recorded when quarterback Arturo Sanchez throw a pass receiver Chris Rodrigo. Rodrigo did not make the touchdown catch however because the ball was deflected into the arms of team mate Ben Longland, the extra point made the score 7-0.

The Tigers drove up the field and scored when quarterback Scott Couper found Ruairdh McDonald in the endzone. The Tigers went for two points and the win. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Couper was sacked by heroic Alex Ottaway.

With the game over the Tigers travelled home, licking their wounds. The Falcons however get one more game and chance to be crowned the BAFL division 2 champions.

Hampshire Thrashers 20 - 49 Colchester Gladiators

The Colchester Gladiators player their second game in a week when they returned to the Wivenhoe Stadium. The visitors this week was the Hampshire Thrashers.

Last week the Thrashers beat the Mavericks at home.

Just missing out on scoring 50 points seems like the only negitive for Colchester. But playing at the Keepmoat for the final is reward enough for the boys in blue and yellow.

The Hampshire Thrashers can now reflex on a successful season which sure the team undefeated in the regular season. The Thrashers can now look forward to the 2010 season with expectation.

But the 2009 season continues for the Gladiators.
